I've raised £10000 to fund St Stephens in the purchase of our new chairs. Please give generously. Thank you

Welcome to the United Parish of St. Stephen and St. Luke's JustGiving page.
Situated close to the city centre, St Stephen's was consecrated on October 28th 1869 as the first 'free' church in Belfast, ie no rental was charged for any seats. Seating was provided for 1,000 souls from all parts of Belfast. The first sermon was preached by Bishop Alexander of Derry, whose wife Cecil Frances Alexander, writer of All things Bright and Beautiful and There is a Green Hill Far Away, accompanied him. A few years later a church hall was added which was also used as a school to provide education for the children of the district. In spite of redevelopment resulting in a major dispersal of parishioners, many still remain faithful to 'their church' and this ethos has continued, resulted in a very family orientated and warm welcoming atmosphere. The church building is listed as a place of historical and architectural significance and contains many stained glass windows which are irreplaceable.
So family and friends you will know that St Stephen‘s has been closed for a few months to complete phase 2 of our renovations. We have been busy during that time raising money for the project and are extremely grateful for the amazing support we have received! Our focus now is on the purchase of 100 new chairs, costing approximately £100+ each. We have a crazy event coming up on Sunday 22nd April when our intrepid adventurer Jackie ‘Indiana’ Coulter along with Giselle and Katrina will be abseiling down the front of the Europa Hotel 😳 The fundraising on this event has been given an incredible start with a donation of £1,000, so this Just Giving page is available now for you to pledge your support for these brave souls - please support them on the day from a safe distance - on the ground!!!
