Story
Ava is 10 years old. For near enough 4 weeks she was Not well.. being sick , complaining of headache, dizzy and off balance. Just wasent herself. In between them weeks I had her back and forth to GPs, doc on call, and even the hospital only to be told from them that it’s viral, then a gastric bug, they just made me feel like a was worrying over nothing. But deep down a knew something was wrong. They told me That she would soon settle. But I had her at xhouse for the 4th time (not all in the one day) on the sunday 29th may cause she just wasent picking up at all her symptoms were getting worse so they done all her observations told me she was fine mentioned viral and sent us on our way. The next morning a wasent happy so I called me own gp again who then seen us and wasent happy so called the paediatric team for Ava and they told us she had a app the 14th June so see someone but the doc told them she needsto be seen asap so we went up, they checked her usual obs and took bloods they came back “fine” then that made me doubt maself thinking am a just being a worrier ? They a told them basically they better at least scan her and do further testing so she went for a mri and within 20 mins after it finished we were blue lighted upto the queen Elizabeth sick kids hosp in Glasgow , Ava had severe pressure on her brain. She got operated on the next morning to relieve the pressure and that’s when we got told they found the tumour that’s what was causing the blockage, they removed what they could and took a biopsy.
A week later we got the devastating news that Ava had a high grade glioblastoma cancerous tumour on her brain, it’s inoperable and not a really good outcome tbh. She’s had 6 weeks of intense radiotherapy, and also chemotherapy and finished that on the 5th aug ❤️ she’s got her big scan on the 6th sept xx
