I've raised £25000 to to honour Stuart Weston with his own race at the Dante meeting, and to help with the costs of his treatment and repatriation

Update:
On 4th May Stuart passed away. He's been flown back and his funeral will be organised by his remaining family.
For those coming to York for his race on Wed 17th May, please reach out to me on Whatsapp on +447474031136.
Previously:
On January 1st our friend Stuart had a cardiac arrest, and his brain was starved of oxygen for so long it was damaged irreparably. Given his was such a big brain, it's still keeping his body alive, but the man we know and love isn't there anymore. He's gone, but his body is stuck in a hospital in Estonia.
Interestingly, one of Stuart's memorable quotes about death was: "I don't know why people get so obsessed by the news someone's died. Dying is the single least remarkable thing any of us will do." Needless to say, he's having the last laugh by stretching his own exit out over a few months.
Stuart's favourite race meeting of the year was the Dante meeting at York, which he attended religiously. "I like the Wednesday best. Too many c**ts the closer you get to the weekend."
So, in homage to Stuey's memory and to give his friends a place to be together and celebrate the man we love, we've sponsored a race for him on the Wednesday of the Dante meeting at York (17th May, 2023). It would be great if you could come to share a drink and a bet.
We'd really appreciate it if you could make a contribution. We are covering the cost of the sponsorship of the race in his memory, so we are now able to put all the contributions towards supporting Stuart.
He's been resident outside the UK for so long, he's ended up slipping down the cracks and turned into the bookmaker's version of Shamima Begum - a man with no country to claim him - and having left no will, there are costs involved with his ongoing treatment and repatriation. The least we can all do is help. The total cost for his care and repatriation is likely to be between £26k and £40k, so every penny will help.
Dig deep please people, and all those decent contributors will get free County Stand tickets for his big day.
Thanks
Jamie
