I've raised £1000 to provide resources for our community based dance studio in the centre of St Austell Town for Children, Young People and Adults.

At 4FS Dance/Studio 4 we are a small team of committed individuals (many of whom are volunteers) who run a Community Company focused on delivering high quality, accessible dance to children, young people and adults. We are passionate about providing as many opportunities to our young people as we can. We work hard to make our dance inclusive, accessible, high quality and aspirational. We work with children who just want to take up dance as an out of school activity right through to those who want to enter into the industry in a professional capacity. We work with a wide variety of industry professionals to support our young people to achieve their absolute best. We now want to take the next step of being able to deliver our own accredited Community Dance award so that our students can advance their skills even further. In order to do this we are looking to develop our own studio space right in the heart of the community in St Austell by renovating 3 redundant units in the town Centre.
By bringing these premises back into use and being located in the town centre we feel that we can achieve a number of things:
We can offer more opportunities to more Young People in one if the most deprived areas in the Country helping to raise their aspirations
Develop accredited courses for young people and the wider community
We can bring 3 redundant units back into use
We can support the regeneration of the Town Centre post Covid by bringing people into town
We can make the most of the train and bus links and the growing cycling links to support green travel
Create job opportunities to local people.
We have raised a considerable amount and have had support from Sport England, SSE, Cornwall Council Community Chest, Cornwall and Devon Police, Creative Cornwalll, St Austell Lions Club, St Austell Bid, White River Place and a successful Crowdfunder campaign. However, we are trying to raise funds for extra resources and further building work that is needed. This Centre will make a huge difference not just for the young people and families we work with but for our community. Please support if you can, every little helps.
