All of us at Studio S have been so moved to see images of the terrible suffering in Ukraine, and we know that many, many children have been affected and uprooted from their homes. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, but we want to do something practical to help those who have lost everything and have to start a new life in the UK.

We want to stand particularly with the innocent children who have become refugees, and we are inviting our customers, staff and others within our local community to stand with us by supporting us in our fundraising because we really want to make a difference. We are aware of local organisations that are currently making preparations to host and support refugees, and once we have confirmation that everything is authorised and in place for this, we will tell everyone about exactly which organisation(s) will be benefiting from our fundraising.

On Saturday April 23rd, our Principal Dance Teacher, Jenni Keeling, will be dancing outdoors at Studio S from 9am until 3pm, along with our 'Headliners' for some of that time. All other Studio S children and adults have been asked to book a 30 min slot (further information on booking available from the Studio) to join in the dancing, and in asking their friends and families to sponsor them. Anyone who does not attend dance or Studio S fitness classes is also more then welcome to organise some sponsorship, book a slot and join in with us.

Our event went very well, we had a wonderful day and thanks to the generosity of all involved, it looks very much as if we will reach our target of £1000. We are currently speaking with local people who are involved in supporting refugees in our community and we will post an update about that soon. Many, many thanks to everyone to took part, donated or helped in any other way to raise funds!
