Story
It’s with great sadness that we set up this page in memory of Stu Hicken who passed away 19 April 2018.
On 21 May everyone will be invited to say goodbye to Stu & to celebrate the memories they shared with him.
So many of the stories will involve the RAF where he excelled. His enthusiasm made him one of the brightest & the best.
We can also laugh at his obsession with Star Wars, Marvel Comic movies & Batman. We can remember his vast music collection & Lego figures!
Our stories will also turn to Zach who he always talked about. Zach was Stu's world he loved spending time with him, sharing his music collection & movie quotes & he was so proud to show off the RAF to him. It’s important to us to keep this link & pride with Zach.
Our wish is that flowers are from family only. We have therefore set up this page for donations. Please don't feel you have to, it is a place for messages too.
There wasn't a charity that stood out as having a strong tie to Stu but we have chosen LIVES & Scotties Little Soldiers*. We would also like to use some of the money to keep the RAF alive for Zach.
Stu's death has devastated us. The ripples are far reaching & we, as I'm sure many people will, have so many questions.
One thing we’ve realised is that we should not add to the stigma around mental health. We should not finish this without saying that Stu died from suicide. We are so proud of him, what he did in his life & what he achieved. That's why Stu's story isn't over. Although we all have questions, we should concentrate on telling his stories, you never know who it will inspire.
Please join us as we remember the happy memories, as we cherish the love we shared & as we shed a tear that he' s not here. Don't be afraid to talk to others about what happened. Tell Stu's story.
Thank you: From all the family.
