We run a popular community centre/dementia have in a poor area of st leonards, East Sussex.
Our centre is much loved and used by 11,000 seniors per month.
Unfortunately as we offer subsidised prices we have no money for maintenance of our building.
We are one of the last centres in our area for seniors to meet for daily lunch, cafe, computer lessons, keep fit, walking groups, hearing aid repairs, health trainers, smoking cessation, crafts, toenail cutting, movie afternoons, entertainment, hairdressing, community cars, Befriender's, mental health and benefit advice and much more.
We offer all this with over 80 wonderful volunteers and just 4 paid staff.
Our building is vandalised regularly due to the area but we pay for maintenance ourselves and have broken windows and skylights etc leaving us vulnerable.
We offer a first class service and friendship to all who walk through our doors. We also go over and beyond in our work as we all love it.
