    Story

    Sue Newell 1st May 1949 - 28th August 2017

We want to do something positive for our local community in memory of a wonderful person who will be missed so much by her family and friends.

Sue was full of life, love, laughter and happiness. She had a sparkling presence, a beautiful smile and always managed to brighten up someone's day. She showed great compassion and sensitivity to others and was a great listener.

Sue had so many great attributes and certainly lived life to the full - glamorous, energetic, vibrant and fun and often a little naughty! The best Wife, Mum, Grandparent and Friend to so many. A natural homemaker, cook and gardener, Sue just loved to be busy and achieved so much both at home and at work.

Sue was at her happiest outdoors and loved walking and being close to nature. She loved the contrast of her life in North Wales and her lovely Chalet amongst the lakes and mountains of the French Alps.

Soon after she retired as a much loved nurse five years ago she suffered a massive heart attack and although she made a good recovery she faced further health battles, including surgery for a detached retina and slipped disc. Despite great bravery throughout she was taken from us far too soon, recently succumbing to a sudden severe stroke.

As a family living in rural North Wales we recognise the importance of having early access to the emergency response system, early CPR and early defibrillation to treat cardiac arrest - all vital in the chain of survival.

In memory of Sue's wonderful life which was all about giving to others, we want to provide our local community with a public access defibrillator. The Welsh Ambulance Service is supporting us and will provide training to help us improve local survival rates. Your kind donation will help us achieve this aim.
