Story
I remember my very first day at a computer lab... an actually computer was in front of me and I could touch it and explore it's uses. It was my first year in Varsity. When the time came for me to actually type an assignment, I didn't even know what Microsoft Word looked like. It literally took me 2 hours to type one page, using just my index finger and trying to figure out the keyboard. Those days of typing with one hand are long gone now and I actually type 48w/m now. But the beautiful souls at the high school I attended are totally clueless when it comes to computers.
Tholimfundo High School is a rural based high school located at the south of KwaZulu Natal with 752 learner enrollment. It is shocking that all these learners have never used a computer, never touched one and cannot phantom it's many uses and reach.
Please help me place 50 computers at this high school as these learners need basic computer training which will equip them for the world after high school.
