Hi, my name is Summer and I’m 10 years old 👋

When I was born, I was very poorly and spent the first part of my life being cared for by amazing people. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to help other children who might be struggling or going without. That’s how my missions started when I was five.

Since then, I’ve helped raise thousands of pounds and collect food, toys and special treats for children in my community in Manchester. For my 10th birthday I refurbished the family room and parents rooms at Wythenshawe hospital neonatal unit, the place that saved my life. I’ve been lucky and won a British citizen youth award for my missions, but the best part is knowing I’ve helped make another child smile.

This Easter, I’m raising money to buy Easter eggs and teddies for children who might not get anything at all. Some people think it’s just chocolate, but when you’re a child and everyone else has something and you don’t, it can feel really sad. A small gift can make a big difference.
