Story
Hi, I’m Summer, I’m 11 years old, and I run Summer’s Mission. 💖
When I was born at just 27 weeks, I spent three months in Wythenshawe Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). My mum has always told me she was too scared to leave my bedside because I was so poorly, even just to get something to eat or drink.
For my 10th birthday, instead of presents, I chose to raise money for Wythenshawe Hospital NICU. Thanks to so many amazing supporters, I was able to refurbish the family room, both parent rooms, create a children’s corner, and set up my NICU snack station.
The snack station is filled with drinks, snacks and quick meals so parents can grab something without having to leave the unit for long, helping them stay close to their baby when they need to most.
Every time I top it up, the shelves are empty, which means families are using it when they need it most.
If you’d like to support my mission, every donation, big or small, will help keep the snack station stocked throughout the year, so it’s always there for parents when they need it.
Thank you so much for helping me support NICU families. Together, we really can make a difference. 💙
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. 💕
