Story

Super Sehat is raising basic health care standards for children and families in Indonesia’s isolated communities by providing resources and health care education.

The learning experience of one classroom of students (30 students) in Indonesia’s isolated communities can be turned around for less than $60 US by giving them clean drinking water and drink bottles.

Super Sehat gives people in Indonesia’s isolated communities a chance to improve their health and hygeine standards. Small actions can have a huge life changing impact. For example, try to imagine this, your child spends their school day in a hot 30 degrees unconditioned classroom, without access to clean drinking water or healthy snacks. This is the case for many Indonesian students. This environement is not condusive to optimal learning and is completely avoidable when you consider that water filters can be cheaply and easily provided to schools.

Also, in many circumstances, students in isolated communities have to walk barefoot for up to one hour each day to attend classes, not to mention the return trip home again. Many children share or wear tattered and worn hand me down uniforms from older siblings. Some uniforms can be 5 -6 years old.

Super Sehat provides schools with water filters so that students have access to clean drinking water throughout the day. We also give students drink bottles so they can rehydrate and therefore learn more optimally in the hot classrooms.

This simple act of providing water completely transforms the learning environment for teachers and especially the students’ learning experiences - and it costs less than $60

In addition to this we run educational health and hygiene workshops to help children and their communities understand the importance of basic hygeine practices. These workshops are run by the experienced team of teachers/artists from Pelangi School in Bali.

Your support is guaranteed to make a real difference.
