Emergency Appeal for Bangladesh

I am sure most of you have heard by now that due to heavy rainfall in the last few weeks and especially in the last few days, the rivers have burst their banks in parts of Bangladesh - affecting almost 2 million people.

People in Sylhet and Sunamganj (regions in Bangladesh) have been especially deluged. Not only homes have been struck but the local infrastructure such as roads, airport and railway stations are underwater meaning that supplies to this region is now a big challenge.

We spoke to a local in Sylhet and they said

many people are without food and shelter. Those hardest hit are the poor who used to earn during the day and spend their wages on food in the evening.

Many families have lost their homes and all their possessions.

We are now reaching out to you to help these souls rebuild their lives and have a roof over their heads once again. You can be rest assured that 100% of your donation will go to those most in need. We have local volunteer workers standing by as well as tradesmen to relieve our fellow humans in humanity of this hardship.

Please take a moment to watch this short clip we have uploaded on YouTube:

We apologise for the graphic scene below - this is to illustrate the scale of heartbreak and devastation to wildlife.

The cost to build a basic house with a tin roof, one room, kitchen and toilet will cost approximately £2,000. The project will begin once the water has subsided.

We want to reach as many families as possible but without your help this is not viable. Please give as much or as little as you want - every penny is appreciated.

Thank you.
