Imagine no longer being able to eat food and on top of that you get severe bouts of facial pain that can be triggered by anything from brushing your teeth, lifting your child, a wind on your face ... and for which there appears no safe cure.

That funding is for someone who has been living with these conditions for the past 3 years.
It's to help pay medical bills for Dawn O'Flynn, 47 years old, mother of 2 boys, and who has 2 extreme and painful (physically & mentally) medical conditions which result in her never being able to work again or lead a 'normal' active life.
The first condition is that Dawn has not been able to eat solid food for the past 3 years, something which doctors have not been able to resolve.
Whatever she consumes has to be blended to a liquid form & drank slowly in small amounts. It comes from a problem of the muscle at the end of the esophagus no longer opening to allow food into the stomach.
After losing 30kgs she continues to cook meals for her family, just wishing she could join them in the simple act of eating a meal.

The second condition is called trigeminal neuralgia which is a chronic pain disorder causing excruciating facial nerve pain. It was triggered during a hospital stay in which she had unsuccessful surgery for the above condition. It is one of the most painful conditions in medicine and can result in depression.

Either of those conditions by itself would have most of us on our knees but both of them together is just unimaginable.

The medical bills, Not covered by her minimal health insurance, are for several types of treatment used in attempting to relieve her conditions and they include bills for Orthodontist, Physiotherapist, Nutritionist, Chiropractor, Acupuncture, Cranial therapy.

She can never work again in a steady job and bills continue to increase while looking for a solution to ease her facial pain & maintain her weight to avoid further hospitalization.
