My Dad has been suffering from Vascular Dementia, Alzeimer's and Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for over a year now, which means his brain is shrinking at a rapid pace to the point where his brain isn't attached to his skull anymore, there is no cure. I fear there's not much time left. It's difficult for him to remember names, speak cohesively and loses balance when moving around. He's currently in a care home in which he walks around looking for my mum, which is who this funding will go to.

She has been taking care of him for over a year until recently when he had to get put in care. Now I worry for her loneliness as she misses him not being around. My mother is the sort of person who makes sure everyone else is taken care of before even thinking about herself. She used to work in a care home for the elderly looking after people, she took time off to spend more time with my step-dad, then this happens.

The loss she keeps experience isn't fair, yet she still remains positive and thankful for the things she does have. That, to me, is true strength and something I aspire to be. I want to do what I should have done a long time ago and return the love and support she has shown over the years and giving that good karma back by raising funds for her to provide support for both of them.
