We, at Team Support NHS, are individuals who have come together to help raise £20,000 for our NHS frontline heroes, as they tirelessly battle the COVID-19 virus.

We are supporting the two following initiatives and aim to donate £10,000 to each:

1. Taxi rides for the NHS

Gett UK, the Black Taxi app, is connecting NHS staff with Black Cab drivers happy to offer NHS workers in London rides for just £10. The offer is available to the great number of NHS staff working round the clock to treat as many people as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.

With the current state of the tube and possible full closure, we need to ensure our NHS staff are able to get to and from work safely.

Every £10 donated will fund a safe taxi journey for an NHS worker. If we reach our target, that will be 1,000 journeys!

2. Meals for the NHS

After 18 hour shifts trying to save our lives from COVID-19, NHS Hospital Staff are faced with canteens that shut at 5pm.

Special opening hours for the elderly and vulnerable, as well as NHS staff and social care workers, have been put in place by major supermarket chains such as ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Iceland and more.

Whilst the above initiative is a positive movement, in reality NHS shift workers are unable to get to a supermarket during these times.

We are giving you the power to directly feed medical staff at local hospitals with your donations. Working with local restaurants to provide freshly prepared meals at a reduced rate per head,

'Meals for the NHS ' have delivered hundreds of meals to hungry NHS staff, and this is just the beginning!

'Meals for the NHS ' have 15,000+ meals that need delivering to over 20 NHS Hospitals in the UK every day (and growing).

100% of your donations will go towards meals for hospital workers.

Figures show our NHS frontline medical staff are more likely to fall seriously ill or die from Coronavirus.

In Italy nearly one in ten of its near-60,000 cases of the killer virus is a healthcare worker.

At least 3,300 of China's 80,000 cases since the outbreak began in late December have been healthcare workers.

14% of COVID-19 cases in Spain are healthcare workers.

More than 420 people have now died in the UK with more than 8,000 cases across the country, and the numbers are rising.
