We are Andalusia, a small but growing community group rooted in the heart of Queens Park, created to support and uplift Muslim women in our community. Over the past year, we’ve come together to host fundraising events, community gatherings, and build spaces where women feel safe, seen, and supported. Now, we’re taking the next step — and we need your help.

This year, two inspiring women from our charity — Abeer Al Maghribi and Leila — will be taking part in the annual KensalTri triathlon to raise funds so more women in our community can access life-changing opportunities through exercise and connection. It’s their first time doing anything like this — Abeer will be cycling and running, and Leila will take on the swimming leg. They are both stepping outside of their comfort zones not just for themselves, but for the women they represent. Please show them your support as they take on this empowering challenge!

We’re raising money to make swimming classes more accessible, to support women who can’t afford them, and to run more events that bring us together in health, in confidence, and in joy. Every community event, every swim lesson, every chance to be active and included — it all takes funding. And that funding goes directly into helping women build confidence, improve their mental health, and feel a true sense of belonging.

When I first joined the triathlon, I didn’t know anyone. I had no friends in the local community. But that one event changed everything. I met incredible people, built lifelong friendships, and finally felt like I had a place. It wasn’t just about the exercise — it was about being seen, being welcomed, and being part of something bigger.

This is what I want for other women — for the women who are shy, isolated, or unsure if they belong. I want them to know that they do belong. That they are strong. That there is a space waiting for them, both in sport and in community.
