Story

This beautiful little girl, Lara, was bitten by the larger family dog on her back in Romania. Once at the vet, after X-ray and surgery, the sad news came, when it was realised that her back legs would be paralysed forever and she would be unable to control her toilet.

The owners no longer wanted her asking the vet to euthanise but fortunately she was rescued by Oana and she had an operation to her severed spine. This did not appear to be a success as Lara appeared to have no feeling in her back legs. This little girls life has changed for ever and at only a few months old she may have had to spend her life in a shelter.

In stepped Paws2Rescue and supporters contributed to wheels and her travel costs to the U.K. if a fosterer could be found. Fortunately for Lara she stole the heart of Paws2Rescue volunteer, Sandra, so is now at home in Scotland with her three Paws2Rescue sisters, Kizzy, Dixie, and Sasha.

Lara has recovered from parvovirus and hepatitis so she is a wee fighter. The news from Chris, her vet, is more positive and he believes there is some feeling in both legs and she has started wagging her tail. Chris has recommended ongoing hydrotherapy and physio therapy and is optimistic that this may help help her gain some mobility.

Lara has a buggy which lets her get out and about but what Lara wants is to be running around with her sisters. She gets upset when they start running ahead of her and her mummy pushing her cannot keep up.

Lara is able to move her self around and we believe this little girl deserves the best chance ever to give her the life that she should have had as an easy going puppy. She is a very determined wee character and acts like a normal puppy full of energy.

Currently having to wear nappies, we are trying to train her to go to the toilet, this will get easier once her treatment progresses.

Please help us no matter how small so we can give the ongoing treatment that this little baby girl deserves.
