Story
“Attention Paddock, Attention Paddock”
What started last week as a little idea has now turned into a full-blown plan. Let me explain...
For me the TT really begins when I turn on Manx Radio TT and in the background I hear the rumble of bikes being warmed up and that familiar claxon followed by the Clerk of the Course announce “Attention Paddock, Attention Paddock”. It makes the hairs on my arms stand on end I am pretty sure I am not the only one that feels this.
I reached out on social media for anyone that might have a decent recording of this so that I could turn it into my ringtone or message tone. This way I could have that bit of the TT with me all year. It turns out I wasn’t the only person that wouldn’t mind having that and then I had the idea that if this could raise even a little bit of money for the groups that support the TT then we all win. With no luck on social media I turned to Manx Radio TT for help and in the true spirit of the TT my luck changed.
With fantastic help from Jo Pack (Manx Radio TT), the very own TT Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson took time during this incredibly busy period to record our very own “Attention Paddock, Attention Paddock” and I have converted this into a tone for iPhone & Android phones. In the spirit of the TT I decided against charging for these to raise money for TT related causes and decided a voluntary donation would be a much better idea.
The two that came to mind were The Mike Hailwood Foundation & the Isle of Man TT Marshals Association. Without either the TT would not be what it is today. From Newcomers to the TT getting some support all the way to the Marshals that are needed to run each and every session who give up their time so that we can all enjoy the racing.
I have nothing but admiration for every single marshal and equally the riders who come to take on the famous mountain course that we all love to watch.
Now with the power of the Internet I would love it if we could raise some funds to show our appreciation for everything that goes on behind the scenes. Not everyone can make it to the TT but that doesn’t stop the enjoyment of listening to the races or watching them on TV. I am sure there are others out there like me that would love to show this by making a donation, no matter of the value.
I would ask that if you download one of the tones a voluntary donation of £1 would be extremely appreciated. Even if you are not interested in the tones but would love to show support a donation would be extremely appreciated

5 years agoAs a Thank You for raising such an awesome amount I want to share the full version with claxon. It wasn't easy to get a good recording but I got one and I have edited it with the original Attention Paddock that Gary Thompson did for us.
