Story
Our beautiful friend Kirsty was rushed to Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, on the 27th February following an unprovoked stroke. Kirsty is a fit and healthy 26 year old with no history, this devastating brain injury was a complete shock to her and everyone who loves her. Kirsty has fought for her life following the stroke and has undergone three brain surgeries to try and stop the swelling in her brain. This will mean a long recovery and rehab period when Kirsty is stable enough to be stepped down from the ICU.
Kirsty has been a nurse for over 3 years working for the NHS in emergency medicine. She has recently been working as an agency nurse to allow her to continue the job she loves whilst travelling the world. She is one of life’s wonderful people and is a true ray of sunshine who is loved by her patients and colleagues, and truly by everyone who meets her. Not only this, but she is a loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, auntie and niece, who would do anything for those around her.
We are so unbelievably proud of her strength and determination throughout this ordeal and want to show the world how incredible she truly is. She has spent all of her adult life working in healthcare, taking care of sick and vulnerable people and we now want to support her through this time while she is sadly having to be taken care of. We have set up this page to ensure her only focus is getting herself better.
We know there are a lot of people out there who love Kirsty and have asked us ways to show support, this is the way we felt would be most beneficial to Kirsty while she recovers. We thank you for any size donation, and we know Kirsty would be so so appreciate of anything people are able to give.
The money raised via this page will go directly to supporting Kirsty through her rehab process.
