Story

My name is Silvia and I am from Mexico City. I am a school mum who has lived in London for the past 13 years.

As you may know, a massive earthquake hit Mexico City, and a few other cities nearby, last Tuesday 19th September. I think you all have probably watched the news by now and seen the damage caused, which is devastating. Many people have lost not only their homes, but also their families.

Unfortunately, there are countless poor areas in the outskirts of Mexico City and small towns in Oaxaca and Chiapas who will not receive much in terms of help. It breaks my heart not being able to help these people leaving me feeling dishearted and powerless. So I thought I would put my frustration to good use and organise a FUNDRAISING EVENT that can offer people without a roof, food, and clothing a bit of hope.

I will be responsible for ensuring that the money reaches the people who really need it and that not a penny is lost 'in the system'. I have a few friends who have been volunteering on the front line since Tuesday and I know they are honest committed people that won't stop as long as they know people need their help. I want to help them by sending the money I raise so that it can be used by them to buy food, blankets, beds, and medicines for those who need it the most.

Rest assured your money will be used in the best way and it will go in full to the victims of this disaster!

I would like to thank you in advance for your support. I truly appreciate your help and have no words to explain to you what your help means and how happy you will make the people in Mexico.

Kindest regards,

Silvia
