Story

SUP? is a celebration of food & culture, gathering people together to create impact in the refugee community.

We are an independent local organisation and our mission is two fold:

1) To enable displaced people to reclaim their own narrative in defiance of the mainstream media rhetoric by sharing their stories and culture through food as well as facilitating conversations with them.

2) To engage communities with the refugee crisis, raising awareness and funds for charities supporting displaced individuals both locally in East London and on the ground.

We've now held three sell out supper club evenings raising over £10,000 for both refugees involved in the event and Choose Love (formerly Help Refugees UK), Mobile Refugee Support, and local grassroots efforts as well as some incredible online events during the lockdown sponsored by Ben & Jerry's and in partnership with Natakallam which attracted a global audience whilst fundraising for our future events.

We'd like to thank everyone who supported us so far and are super excited to share that we will be kicking off Refugee Week 2023 with our next supper club, this time hosted by Chef Majeda, The Syrian Sunflower Kitchen at new contemporary South London joint Jumbi fundraising for Mobile Refugee Support.

Tickets for this can be found here but if you can't make it, we'd really welcome your support in helping reach our fundraising target of £2000!
