I've raised £6000 to help pay legal fees

SUPPORT THE GATE.
83 year old Ian MacKenzie (Ian the Gate) has been working his family’s crofts on the Stoer Peninsula in the north-west Highlands of Scotland for all of his adult life. His love of, and enthusiasm for, crofting has never diminished. Traditionally, to encourage new growth, crofters have set fire to moorland and dead grass. Following this procedure last year, Ian unintentionally fell foul of the law. After a long, costly legal fight, he was fined £1,500, although acquitted of most of the charges levelled against him.
Ian is a greatly respected figure in the Highlands. His friends in the crofting and farming community and beyond would like to show their moral and financial support for him by helping to alleviate the burden that has been placed on him with the legal fees he has incurred.
Any contribution you feel able to make will be greatly appreciated and will be a fantastic boost to Ian following a most traumatic period in his life.
