Story

The Patient Group at Otford Medical Practice is taking the unusual step of asking for donations to help us raise £5000 to purchase a Surgery Pod. The Friends of OMP raise money each year to purchase items to make patient life easier when visiting the Surgery.

To date we have bought easy access chairs to assist patients with mobility problems, portable blood pressure monitors that are loaned out, and two 24-hour blood pressure monitors so that patients do not have to make 2 long trips to the hospital.

To do this, we have raised funds through such events as fun quizzes (and will continue to do so) but this year we have set our target high and are seeking to raise £5000. A Surgery Pod would mean that patients, who are able, can record personal health information confidentially. This will save precious face to face patient and doctor time. We have seen PODs working very effectively in other practices.
