What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

Becky and James are getting married on Saturday 6th October. One of their dogs, Rebel is seriously ill with a lesion on one of his lungs and is being operated on today 5/10/18.

Despite being heavily insured this is going to go over the insurance allowance by a very long way.

Becky and James are going to use all the money given to them as wedding presents for their honeymoon to make sure Rebel gets the treatment he needs.

This has taken all the joy and excitement away from the wedding as anybody who knows Becky, knows her dogs are her LIFE!

Please give anything you can and maybe they will be able to have some money over from the wedding to go for a short break somewhere and be able to come home to ALL their dogs.

Rebel came over from Ireland as a rescue and Becky was his foster mum, she was really rubbish at being a fosterer as she kept him!

Rebel had to go back to the vet yesterday as he managed to lick his scar and open it up slightly. Honestly, DOGS! He is still confined to his cage but he is taking it really well thanks to his Thundershirt which is keeping him calm and will hopefully stop him licking! He will be out at Christmas, YAY! The good news is his lungs appear to be ok, keeping everything crossed. We don't know why it happened, it is conceivable that it could happen again. That would be the worst and most tragic scenario after everything this poor dog has been through.

The total bill for Rebel, not that it makes a difference to Becky, was £18,000. He isn't out of the woods yet. He has another 6 weeks of strict aftercare. Pride vets capped the cost of treatment as the bill was over £24,000! If she had been told the cost right at the start would she have still gone ahead? most people would have had to let their pets go. Becky and James are over £10,000 in debt, it means they won't be saving for a deposit on a house any time soon and baby plans have also taken a back seat. But it looks like Rebel will recover!

Rebel has been out of hospital a week now and on cage rest. The slightest bump or knock could set him back again and he has been through such a lot. The last operation he had, split his sternum and opened him right up. They found a hole in one lung and a tear in the other. A lot of dogs heal naturally with this condition but the operation showed he never would have and it was absolutely the right thing to do. He really looks like he is going to recover, thank you all so very much for your kind donations and words of support.
