I've raised £10000 to Support the Amis family in memory of their beautiful daughter Freya who very sadly lost her battle to DIPG

On Sunday 20th May 2018 I am running Manchester ten k in memory of a beautiful little angel called Freya who very sadly lost her 19 month fight to DIPG(difuse intrinsic pontine glioma) on Friday 27th April 2018 at 11.49pm surrounded by the people she loved the most. This is to raise awareness of DIPG and to also support Mark , Vikki and Ethan to have a holiday and some time out to relax and remember their beautiful Freya . Thank you very much for your support
This was Freya's story.......
Freya was a 6 year old little girl whos world was turned upside down by the life changing diagnosis of DIPG (difuse intrinsic pontine glioma), an agressive inoprable brain tumor. Freya was a bubbly, vibrent little girl who is full of life, only starting school in September 2016
her big brother Ethan is 8 years old, an avid football fan who loves the toon.
Her mummy Vicky is a peadiatric intensive care nurse who has devoted her career to caring for sick children for 10 years.
Both Mum and Dad were devastated by the diagnosis and wanted to give Freya all the things a little girl should have in life.
Their world also was turned upside down by the diagnosis, both having to take sick leave work to care for Freya and Ethan.
It all started with nurmerous trips to the doctors and being told that Freya was suffering from abdominal migranes and behavioural changes due to her age.
Vicky's mothers instinct kicked in and not convinced by the diagnosis a Sunday trip to A&E at the RVI in Newcastle gave them the devastating news they never thought they would recieve.
DIPG has a 0% survival rate, only 10% of children survive 2 years following thier diagnosis and less than 1% survive for 5 years, the average survival is 9 months from diagnosis. Therefore this page has been set up to raise awareness of DIPG and to show support to her family.
