Carla is one of 24 students to have been chosen by her VI form college to travel to Peru next year. The trip is an opportunity to help some of the poorest people in one of the most remote places in this developing country. The students spend two weeks working in a school and children's centre. They help build toilets, kitchens, walls, water systems. They hand-mix cement because they have no cement mixers. The two weeks involve wearing a hard hat every day and getting 'stuck in.' They also teach English and sporting activities. Its hard work, but Carla is relishing the opportunity to do something amazing for the children there. She has set up a crowdfunding page to help raise the money she needs. She will be working hard in the next few months taking part in personal projects, as well as College group activities, to help raise even more money.
