Story

Losing your driver’s licence due to cataracts and glaucoma when you live in a village with no public transport can make life very tricky. Plus you are a creative artist that is the initiator and artistic director of The Dragon’s Heart and Dragon’s Soul Diverse Capacity Dance Theatre Company. But can no longer get to work with these differently-abled dancers. Their rehearsal space can only be reached by car.

This is dance artist Carol Brown’s situation.

Carol is an extraordinary dance artist who has a rich legacy of creating dance and inspiring people of all ages and abilities. She brings this unique experience to her role as ]he Chair of The Board of Trustees of Dance Blast in Abergavenny. Her talent has made the magic of this art accessible to so many who would not normally have the opportunity to experience the life-enhancing benefits of creative dance. She has produced, and continues to do so, dances for performances in Wales and internationally.

Carol life’s work as a dance artist has stopped. temporarily, it is hoped. She is now reliant on kind neighbours and friends to provide transport. And her artists heart wishes to continue to work with The Dragon Dance Theatre.

Art enriches the soul, but not the bank balance.

Let’s together raise £800 towards an operation that can soon sort out the cataracts and glaucoma. The alternative is remaining on a NHS waiting list of over two and half years for this procedure.

However much or little you give, your generosity will be deeply appreciated and help Carol to regain her independence. Thank you so much.
