Story

LEGS 11 111 - 11-11 - 1111

Susannah Frieze has set herself a gently themed, legs-based challenge, set between 11.11.19 and 11.12.19, to row on an erg each day, totalling 111kms. (she is also going to do 111 sit-ups each week just to up the ante on last year).

Her target is to raise £1,111 (now raised to £2,111)for doing this... so if 111 of her closest friends could step up now and pull a tenner out of their pocket, then she’d be prepared to chuck in the last quid. She’s that keen.

She is also keen to raise money again for Robbie's Rehab, a charity dedicated to providing specialist medical professionals with the resources to help children with brain tumours, run from Southampton Hospital for children from around the UK who need specialist rehabilitation during and following their treatment for cancer.

When Robbie Keville was 6, he lost his mother Kate to breast cancer. He decided then to become a doctor. Possessed of a good mind, there was no doubt that Robbie had the ability to realise his ambition one day. However, aged 8, he himself was diagnosed with cancer - a malignant brain tumour. Despite the best efforts of wonderful medical staff, he died aged 10 in February 2016.

During his life, Robbie made a great many friends and admirers. robbiesrally was his idea. He named it, thought of the original fundraising event (the inaugural ‘robbiesrally’ on Valentine’s Day 2015) and was ambitious for its success, as are his fundraisers

More information can be found on the charity's website at www.robbiesrally.com and its Facebook page www.facebook.com/robbiesrally.
