Story

I have struggled over the last seven months to find an appropriate memorial for my boy - somewhere to visit and remember my precious son. As everyone knows, Josh loved mountains, lakes and the sea spending his time snowboarding, wake boarding, paddleboarding, skateboarding. Having recently moved to Littlehampton to be by the sea and heal, I discovered the Long Bench Project - Aldingbourne Trust.

They create a wooden slat to go on the bench with a memorial or tribute for your loved ones. This struck me as a perfect place for me, my family and friends or anyone who visits Littlehampton to sit and think about our memories of the boy. It's also the sort of bench Josh would have climbed on as a little boy and probably fallen off!

I plan to have his mantra engraved on his part of the bench - "Living and Not Just Surviving", his name, dates and age. I look forward to having this special place honouring my beautiful son, soul, angel.

Money raised will pay for the slat for 5 years and then an extension for another 5 years and also provide the opportunity for Lauren and I to return with Josh's ashes to the Alps where they both worked, and we ski'd and partied together. Our dream is to return him for his birthday in February 2020 - sadly we could not afford it this year as we planned.
