We are raising funds to purchase bat boxes to be installed across sites within West Sussex. These will be predominantly Schwegler boxes which have worked well in Surrey bat box projects.

There are 18 species of bat in the UK, all of which have been recorded in Sussex. Some are resident in Sussex, while others turn up occasionally or at certain times of the year

The most south-easterly breeding population of Greater horseshoe bat resides within West Sussex and the previously thought extinct Greater mouse-eared bat has, as of this year, now two individuals that hibernate within disused railway tunnels in West Sussex.
