During the global "16 days of Action Against Domestic Violence" , staff at Sutton Housing Partnership are raising money for Sutton Women's Centre.
On average, 104 women (2 women a week) are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales. Staff at Sutton Housing Partnership are walking a minimum of 104 miles in 16 days.
The 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness and taking action to end domestic violence and gender-based abuse.
Sutton Women’s Centre are a key provider of domestic abuse support in the London Borough of Sutton and the surrounding area. They offer support to women who have experienced any form of domestic violence. Their domestic violence services include the Freedom Programme; a support group aimed at survivors of domestic abuse and counselling. Less obviously, their range of social and creative activities can help women who have experienced domestic abuse to rebuild confidence and self esteem, reduce isolation and make new friends in a relaxed and friendly setting.
