Our aim is to reach out to the homeless members of local communities and provide them with consumable and non-consumable items that will help ease the difficulties they face while living on the streets.

The items in a care pack are currently either funded by us, or donated by friends and colleagues.

When a care pack is put together, consideration is given to a variety of things. Hygiene, dignity, nutrition, warmth, and comfort are all important factors in providing a homeless person with practical, respectful assistance. They include a variety of snacks, toothpaste/toothbrush, wash/shower gel/soap, wipes, can opener, travel mug with tea & coffee, sleeping bag, yoga mat for the floor, warm clothing, socks, hats, gloves, and any other items we think will be of value.

When giving a care pack it is important for me to spend time connecting with the person if possible. One of the most difficult challenges a homeless person faces is isolation. Often, homeless people are deliberately ignored and avoided, some are even abused. This significantly reduces the likelihood of them receiving an offer of help. So I make a deliberate effort to maintain eye contact and show each person that they still matter.

While there is an initial target set at £200, giving care packs out is something I will continue to do for the foreseeable future so fund raising will continue throughout.
