I've raised £500 to help with funding to build an Emergency Helipad in Applecross, to allow a safe place for the Air Ambulance to land on our remote peninsula.

I am hoping to raise money to help fund the building of an Emergency Helipad to allow a safe place for the Air Ambulance to Land on our remote peninsula, as getting to hospital by road in an emergency from here can take hours. We have been reminded, sadly, in recent times in Applecross how the need to get to a hospital quickly, can happen at any time, to anyone, local or tourist, old or young. In an emergency, every minute saved on journey time increases survival chances. With busier than ever single-track roads, a helipad could make the difference between life and death.
I have recently been awed by friends undertaking huge challenges: half marathons, extreme marathons, the Tsunami, The Celtman. Due to recurring Achilles' Heel problems, I no longer run further than two miles at a time. I have changed my running style from light dancing on the balls of my feet to more of a clumsy flat footed approach, and this seems to have helped. I also seem to suffer, on my right side, from let's call it middle-aged hip, so swimming is also less easy and more ungainly than it used to be. My bike is a dutch style upright ladies' bike, with seven gears. My challenge to myself, therefore, is to complete Celtman like distances within 4 weeks, in between work and visitors each weekend, finishing it just before my 48th birthday.
My target, before the 23rd July 2019, is to:
SWIM 3.4K in cold, deep and jellyfish infested Atlantic waters,, with hip; BIKE 202K on incredible scenic (and often very windy) Highland roads with 7 gears; RUN 42K including through an ancient drover's pass, flat footed; ASCEND over 4000 Metres during this epic 4 weeks..... that's 4 Munros.
Any donations would be very much appreciated.
