Weʼre raising £180 to get the one in the hat to Exploring the Field 2018!
- Moorlakes Wood in Gower, a beautiful 80 acre oak woodland.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
On the 8th July, our dear friend Bill Rumble pictured above (he's the one sipping tea, not the one in boots in the foreground) will be running in "Tough Runner Cardiff Epic 10k" https://toughrunneruk.com/events/cardiff-epic-10k/ Whilst he's running, I will be in the library, with my nose in books and assignments, pushing towards the close of my second year at uni, and another step closer to gaining my degree in Social Work. It's been a different sort of a challenge... the ivory tower is not my natural habitat!
As my student loan runs dry, please sponsor Bill to raise the dosh for me to attend the soul nourishing, creative arts and culture experience known (and loved) as Exploring the Field...
Exploring the Field is 4 days of music, dance, environmental art, ritual and community inspired by the West African rituals taught by Malidoma Somé.
Nature is a mysterious energy that animates all living beings.
“Nature rituals help people remain focused on their true purpose. To be human is to be engaged in a challenging task of continual readjustment and fine-tuning, especially in a world that distances itself from nature. The repeated distractions that plague life in the modern world separate us not only from the natural world but from our own essential nature.”
"Nature energy asks us to be real, to be ourselves- to drop the mask that the world expects us to wear and to see what is around us as it truly is"- Malidoma Somé.
The cost is £180 inclusive of all meals and camping.
My promise.... to pay forward this kindness <3 (... probably not running 10k, although, you never know! )
