Story

Background:
The school is found in the remotest part of Eastern Zambia. It started in 2003 initiated by the local people for their children. A lot of children had never been to school at any point in their lifetime and ended up engaging in various forms of child labour such as herding cattle, charcoal burning and cultivating huge portions of farm lands in order to earn some income for their families.
The school has P1 to P7 with a total enrolment of 347 pupils. Unfortunately, one block (for P1 to P4) got burnt by wild fires. This situation has negatively affected the already dire situation for the children at the school. Lessons have had to be postponed or cancelled due to lack of accommodation. Children are unable to learn properly in the remaining three classrooms due to over-crowding.
In an effort to make the school suitable for learning I am running 10K during the Edinburgh Marathon Festivals to raise funds. The money raised will be used to:
1. Build of a new 1 x2 classroom block for P1, 2, 3 and 4.
2. Procure 40 (two – sitter desks) for pupils.
3. Install windows.
4. Put in suitable flooring.
