Hello,

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read my story and why I would like to raise money for MCD4D.

I decided I wanted to do something for this charity as not only do they do sessions for people with additional needs but they also help many more, such as my Granny Pat. When my Granny Pat was in her final weeks she talked about one of her favourite memories being a horse and carriage ride around Central Park. Whilst we couldn’t quite make the Central Park happen, the lovely volunteers at MCD4D let her join on a carriage ride around the even better sunny Santon. She talked about the lovely Teddy (one of their old ponies) and how grateful she was for the opportunity to go on another carriage ride until she couldn’t speak anymore. We as a family, couldn’t be more thankful to all of MCD4Ds amazing volunteers for going out of their way to make that happen for us.

This year marks the 10 year anniversary of MCD4D. I will be aiming to complete this years Parish walk and to hopefully raise some funds and awareness for the charity along the way.

MCD4D is 100% volunteer based and a non-profit organisation meaning all of the money raised goes solely back into the wonderful charity. They are financed separately from the riding for the disabled organisation. As I and many other equestrians on the Island will be aware of how expensive the up-keep of horses are, any donations are extremely appreciated. They are also always looking for more volunteers to help, and you don’t have to be ‘horsey’ to help! Please contact Liz on 07624 462605.
