I've raised £300 to Raise money towards Emlyn and Tivyside Parkinson's support group.

It's that time of year again folks (actually I'm a bit late doing this).Louise, Chris and I have been doing our bit over the last few months quietly training for the Cardiff Half Marathon again. You'll remember that last year Chris couldn't join us because she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Well she's back with us and we've been running the three of us, together again and trying to get ourselves up to speed for the race.... ha ha, well we don't really race.....we just try to get to the finishing line!
This will be my third year. The first year I didn't run for a cause because I didn't really think to, but last year Louise ran for Breast cancer and I decided to run to raise money (and awareness) for Parkinson's disease. I can't tell you how fab it was to be wearing the Parkinsons bib and having folk in the crowds cheering me on... shouting "Yes, for Parkinson's" and all that! It made the run feel quite emotional.
So, I totally get it if you are are all bored silly with everyone fundraising all the time and I totally get it if you can't donate...But you know, even if I only make someone just a little bit more aware of this awful disease, that is Parkinson's, I'll have done my bit. My Mum continues to suffer with the symptoms and my Dad is a hero supporting her as much as possible. They both also continue to support our local Newcastle Emlyn group and my Dad is currently the treasurer. He recently organised a day trip for the group where they all had lunch, saw the red kites being fed and then went on to have tea in Tregaron. My Mum couldn't manage the whole day so I picked her up at lunch time and drove her to the Kite feeding centre. She enjoyed seeing everyone and asked if we could go on to have tea with the group so that was lovely.
Anyway, if you can spare a fiver as a donation towards the charity it would be great.
We three will do our best to get over the line without doing ourselves a mischief :)
Thanks to all
Suzi
