Story

Yes....I have a monkey on my shoulder!

I have stage 4 breast cancer (there's no stage 5) and was given weeks to live in Feb 2018 as it had spread to the linings of my brain (it has already set up house in my bones and liver). I am so grateful to still be alive one year on!

Here's the rub... the NHS can't afford the drugs I need to stay alive (or I slip between the gaps due to narrow protocols and can't get the good ones) so after months/years of burning the midnight oil I found other, cheaper, less toxic drugs to target key mutations or vulnerable targets in my cancer (after paying for comprehensive testing in 2015).

Combining these re-purposed drugs alongside conventional medicine blocked the fuel lines/pathways my disease was using to feed/thrive and allowed me to slow/stop the spread which is why I am still alive today but it's been a long, hard road, cancer is starting to gain ground again (you see, cancer is clever and eventually works out escape routes around the blockades so we have to keep evolving with it). This is why I need your help to fund the next raft of drugs/treatments and tests which are beyond my means.

I am so excited and optimistic about this many headed solution to the complex, many headed beast that is terminal cancer and I believe that if I live long enough I may be able to help others with this approach.

What ever you can give even if it's just a little, my family, friends and I would be enormously grateful. Many thanks.
