Due to the impact of COVID 19 and the early cancellation of the football season Swallownest FC were not in a position to hold their annual game to raise awareness of Mental Health issues and raise funds to support the MIND Charity .

In April 2019 Swallownest FC, from the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League teamed up with MIND, the Mental Health Charity, in a huge fundraising effort for the club’s home game with Shirebrook Town. All fundraising activity on the evening plus 50% of the gate receipts totaling £761.82 were donated to the charity.

Many of the players, management and volunteers are painfully aware of the impact of mental health on today's society and particularly on young males. As such it is an issue that is very close to the heart of club members and something that they have committed to support on an annual basis.

As we know the current position presented by COVID 19 is impacting society in all areas including providing challenges for the funding and delivery of sport within the community.

In support of both areas the players, management and volunteers at the club have committed to a fundraising effort throughout June with raised funds to be split equally between the MIND charity and to support the running of the 4 teams at Swallownest FC.

Throughout June - each day, 2 people from the club will run, walk (or crawl) a minimum of 5 km each with the aim of collectively covering a minimum distance of 300 km. This is the same distance that the players would have had to travel to the their remaining cancelled NCEL League games at Worsbrough, Dronfield, Skegness and Harrogate.

All donations in support would be greatly appreciated. Any donations of £10 and over will also receive free entrance to the teams first NCEL game when the new season starts later in the year.
