I've raised £5000 to Blossom Suite & Broomfield NICU Bereavement Fund, Cradle Essex, The Finley James Fund and Lois’ Legacy in memory of all of the Angel Babies

There are a lot of parents that have been affected by early pregnancy loss, miscarriage, still births and neonatal death but they are rarely spoken about. It is always seen as such a taboo subject and that’s a stigma that needs to be broken. We feel it is so important to raise awareness on this. It’s so heartbreaking for all involved and it can really help to be able to talk about it.
No 2 situations will ever be the same, but the loss is real... The grief is too much to bare alone!

Just like last year, we will be raising money for CRADLE, Blossom Suite at Broomfield, Broomfield NICU’s baby bereavement services and the Finley James Fund in memory of Georgie’s beautiful son Finley. We have also joined forces with the lovely Stacey, this year, to create more awareness and reach a larger amount of people, so we will be including Lois’ Legacy to our charities.
We will be holding lots of events this year where all of the Angel Mummies, Families and Friends can come together and support each other whilst raising funds for charities that have supported us in our times of need.
Miscarriage is much more common than people realise. Up to 1 in 4 women experiences a miscarriage during their lifetime, and up to 1 in 6 pregnancies end in miscarriage. However, nobody talks about it! It’s a very lonely and heartbreaking experience to go through. This is why we feel we need to raise awareness!
In 2020, Jenni suffered her second miscarriage after carrying her baby (that didn’t grow past 6 weeks) in her womb for 18 weeks. This is the reason we have chosen to support CRADLE.
CRADLE is a national charity organisation that supports the NHS and bereaved parents who are receiving care following the loss of their baby or in some cases babies during early pregnancy loss. This may be through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, PUL (Pregnancy in Unknown Location), missed miscarriage, molar pregnancy and TFMR. Early pregnancy loss is a miscarriage that happens up to 23 + 6 days of pregnancy.
Blossom Suite Broomfield provided Georgie with so many amazing things from group support to little mementos after she lost her son after less than a day of being able to hold him in her arms, so she could keep memory of her boy forever. Georgie lost Finley to a neonatal death which is when baby dies within the first 28 days of life. This is something that is so traumatic for any family to experience and requires a special and very needed amount of support.
The NICU at Broomfield also provide very special support when a baby is lost in their unit, and it’s so important to recognise that the babies in the Neonatal Unit are so very sick. Unfortunately, there are many babies lost in those first few weeks of life. Jenni’s rainbow baby was cared for by the Neonatal Unit at Broomfield and almost didn’t make it. This made her realise that it was important that we raise funds for them too. They offer special care to bereaved Neonatal families that also need our support.
When you lose a baby you leave the hospital with a box. This box contains a special bag with their hair in, a card with their footprints, a special story that you read to them before you leave them, 2 teddies that are exactly the same one goes with baby one stays with you so you can always cuddle them, and many more special things. But one of the most important things they provide is cuddle cots. Cuddle cots keep the baby cool so you can stay with them cuddle and kiss them as long as possible before you give them that final kiss. Without these cots hundreds of parents would not get to spend time with their babies especially during the current climate.
The Finley James Fund was founded by Georgie to provide pendants with Angel babies prints to offer comfort to grieving family’s like hers. She knows only too well how important these keepsakes are. She has also funded the local baby loss Christmas Tree for the Memorial Garden and Lights for the Town Centre. The services Georgie provides have grown year on year, with the help of you guys and your donations.
Lois’ Legacy was created in 2019 after Stacey’s beautiful daughter Lois, tragically died at birth. Stacey was also cared for by the Blossom Suite. She provides Memory Boxes to families that have used the The Blossom Suite in Broomfield and also the Forget Me Not Suite in Basildon Hospital. Lois’ Legacy also provides over 70 Hospital in the UK and 4 States in The USA with her ‘ Proud Daddy of an Angel’ Cards. These were designed as a special gift for just the Daddys and their babies, as they are often overseen in the care of mother and baby.
All of these amazing things cost money and sadly baby bereavement services get minimal funding if any at all. Most places are run on donations. Your donation means we can help other families with angel babies like Georgie’s beautiful boy Finley, Stacey’s gorgeous girl Lois and many others 💙💙💙
Please please help us raise money so that these amazing people can continue to provide love, support and memories to families who are losing their little ones.
Thank you all so much for your ongoing support!
Lots of Love
Jen, Georgie and Stacey
