Story

Swim4ross

In December 2025, just a month before his 50th birthday, Ross was diagnosed with MND, and his world was turned upside down. Ross, his wife Katie and two children Ellis and Millie are gradually coming to terms with what the future will look like, with this most cruel of illnesses.

Ross has dealt with the news with dignity and humour, but he knows there is a tough road ahead, with no cure. However, there is support that he can access to improve his quality of life, but it comes at a cost. For example, 12 weeks of Neurorehabilitation - £3,600; 6 sessions with a specialist dietician - £900.

Ross has been a very keen swimmer for most of his life. So, on the 1st August a group of his swimming friends will take to the waters of the Severn estuary. Starting at Battery Point in Portishead, we will tackle the 11km swim down the coast to Clevedon Pier.

Your donations to Swim4ross will have a direct impact on Ross and the precious time he has left with his family.

Keep an eye out for more details of how you can get involved on the day, but in the meantime click the link to donate.
