Story
I am going to swim for Sophie.
Although I enjoy a wild swim, it is very much a fair weather thing and I have never swum in winter. I will be doing 30 swims across the winter to honour my best friend.
Sophie was a passionate and considered person, who tread lightly on the earth and held the people she knew at the centre of her heart. This meant that intimate friendships and family bonds were as important as our responsibility to social justice and caring for the planet.
Everything was 100% - nothing was done without love, lightness, intelligence, an air of rebelliousness and bucketfuls of irony and laughter.
As Sophie has sadly recently passed away and was a supporter of many causes over her lifetime, I welcome you to donate in her memory. Funds raised will be split equally between three charities:
- St Nick's Nature Reserve https://www.stnicks.org.uk/
- St Leonard's Hospice https://stleonardshospice.org.uk/
- Environmental Law Foundation https://elflaw.org/
In love and gratitude for Sophie and the joy she brought to me and so many people. Many thanks for anything, however big or small you are able to contribute.
I'm sure your support will help me get in the water when it drops below 10 degrees.
For Sophie - with love x
