Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

The new Swindon Food Collective has taken over from Swindon Foodbank and is keeping the service open for anyone in Swindon who doesn’t have enough food to feed themselves or their family. Run by the organisations volunteers the new service needs to raise funds to be able to collect and distribute donated food. We need help to ensure that people do not go hungry in Swindon.

All our volunteers do amazing work whether they volunteer at one of the seven distribution centres which are open Monday to Friday for ten 2 hour sessions, the warehouse where we accept, sort and pack the donated food, driving our vans collecting donations and delivering food boxes to the distribution centres or helping with administration and Governance behind the scenes. They are an awesome team. Your donations and support keep us going forward to help many more people when they need kindness most. A huge THANK YOU from all of us.

Just a quick snapshot of our work before we leave you. During December we helped to feed 648 people of which 32% were children. This means that we gave out 287 boxes of food along with as many Christmas Hampers. All this food weighed an astounding 8,171 kilos. To give you an idea of how busy we've been - on the Thursday before Christmas (20.12.18) - 70 people were fed in 2 hours through one of our distribution centres and the very next day, at the same centre, 62 were fed in 2 hours.
