Weʼve raised £263 to go the extra mile for Saffron Walden Town Football Club

    Story

Going the extra mile for our community club.

Founded in 1872, Saffron Walden Town FC is the oldest football club in Essex and one of the oldest in the world. For 150 years the towns folk of Saffron Walden have supported 'The Bloods'.

As it is our special 150th anniversary year, what better way to show that we are willing to go the extra mile for this historic community football club. We appreciate any support you can give.

    What are we doing?

Steve, Greg and Paul (our immediate past Treasurer) have entered the Motoscape Banger Rally. Their team name is The Bloods Brothers and the guys have bought a car, priced under £500, and the challenge is to drive from the football club to Venice over 5 days.

With challenges along the way (not least keeping the car running!), we look forward to an epic adventure. Although we hope to have allot of fun along the way, there is a serious side to our journey and that is to raise funds for the continued development of Saffron Walden Town Football Club.

    Why are we raising money?

Saffron Walden Town Football Club is at the heart of community football in Saffron Walden. The club has three resident teams (First Team, Reserves and U18s) and we are also proud to play our part in supporting the community youth teams. Our support ranges from providing car parking and toilet facilities for Saturday youth football to offering youth teams the opportunity to play on a professional playing surface.

The past two years has been really tough on most businesses however even during one of the toughest periods in history of the club, regular visitors will have seen the huge amount of work that has been done to keep improving the facilities and playing staff.

We continually make incremental gains and any money raised helps the club to go the extra mile for our players, visitors and supporters

You can see the car and the lads at the club over the coming weeks and we hope you will come and say hello and get a photo with car. When we come back the car will be sold and the money will also be given to the club.

    About the Route.

The guys, have bought an Jaguar S Type and will travel across 8 countries (UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Italy) in 5 days to reach Venice.

    OUR PROMISE.

Every single penny raised is used for the development of Saffron Walden Town Football Club.

No donation is too small, so please help support Saffron Walden Town Football Club

    Thank you for your support.

Steve, Greg and Paul ( Our team name is the Bloods Bothers)

We finally had the car at yesterdays fantastic home game and we thank you for all the donation we received. What a fantastic result and the reward is the real opportunity to play Step 4 football next season. 1 more team stands in our way of promotion and Saturday 30th April at Witham Town FC will be the biggest game for many years. We will be there to support the boys. Hope to see you there.
