Story

I have personally been involved in this charity seeing first hand the good that they do not just for the kids but their families also. Not being content there they have gone on to do work in the wider community regularly visiting care homes and bringing smiles to the faces of their residents

That is why I decided to run the Tough Mudder 5 miles 15 obstacles to help raise money for them and do my part in making this a world that we all want to live in.

Child poverty is a crisis that is slowly creeping its way into becoming a regular part of our lives with many people just accepting it for that.

Sylvia’s Blessing is at the forefront by trying to help these children and their parents that are put in these unfortunate circumstances.

The charity was started when its founder began giving up her own time on a Sunday to children that suffer from coming from under privileged homes and teaching them valuable life lessons, morals, giving them food and taking them on day trips the type of experiences they would never have at home.

Other ways in which they help support the community are:

• Funding and running Sunday Schools for disadvantaged children that focuses on giving them life skills and building on their confidence

• Giving grants to parents that will help them to afford nursery fees

• Funding before and after school clubs that will help parents that worry about arranging extra care for their children

• Offering free financial education to parents whose children are taking part in our programme

• Funding and arranging day trips and experiences for children that are part of our programme
