Story
It was recently brought to my attention that a young father, and fellow Syrian, Mostafa Muhammad Srour, has been beset with extraordinarily difficult circumstances, even by the considerable standards of the Syrian people
Not long ago, his five year-old son Hadi was diagnosed with t-cell lymph node cancer. Initially unable to pay for his treatment, he has continued to work tirelessly as a software engineer in Lebanon, and simultaneously reached out for assistance. In the midst of this, his older son Omar suffered trauma to the head from a fall at school. Here was another procedure he could not afford- but even worse news was in store for him. While under assessment for a potential case of internal bleeding, seven year-old Omar was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in the right side of the brain.
It is uncommon that one person, still reeling from the displacement suffered by our people, traumatised by the war, should suffer in this way.
Hadi and Omar are undergoing chemotherapy and radiology respectively. Omar's tumour is particularly aggressive. For the time being, Hadi's treatment is covered by St Jude Hospital, yet it remains for us to cover Omar's 33 sessions of treatment, at 300 USD each-excluding additional fees. This is a total of 9900 USD.
This man and his young family are without a hope if we do not help him financially, and engage medical professionals who can do the job.
A little bit can go a long way. If each of us were to forego some small pleasure over the coming month, we can gift a family with some hope. Please donate.
