Story
T1D Treks: Seven Sisters for Type 1 Diabetes
We’re taking on a breathtaking (and challenging!) trek across the iconic Seven Sisters cliff tops to raise funds that can support people living with Type 1 diabetes.
Why?
Because living with Type 1 diabetes is its own daily trek: decisions, resilience and problem solving (to name a few). We believe in empowering people on their journey.
This walk is our way of making that invisible effort visible.
💙 Why this matters to us
Everyone taking part in our T1D Trek lives with Type 1 diabetes or directly supports someone who does.
We manage:
⛰️blood sugars
⛰️insulin
⛰️meal time decisions
⛰️exercise decisions
⛰️stress
⛰️ sleep
⛰️and still show up to work, school, family life, and adventures like this one.
Seven cliffs. Endless ups and downs. Sound familiar?!
💙 What we’re fundraising for
All funds raised go to DiAthlete’s (registered charity) League of Diabetes projects, with a strong focus on supporting mental wellbeing in diabetes care, including:
🏐 Game-based learning workshops in paediatrics,
helping youth age groups with Type 1 diabetes learn through activities — building confidence, understanding, and emotional resilience.
🔥 Camp Phoenix for Adults
A life-changing camp for adults living with Type 1 diabetes, focused on connection, mental health, peer support, and rediscovering confidence beyond numbers and targets.
Living with Type 1 isn’t just physical — it’s mental, emotional, and constant. These projects help people not just survive, but thrive.
🙏 Your donation helps our voluntary team to reach locations to make these projects and impact lives throughout the year. Each game based workshop costs approximately between £250 - £500 to run in equipment's and venues. Our camps and festivals require a budget of upwards £1000 to bring voluntary staf and special guests who make it happen.
Thank you for supporting T1D Treks, DiAthlete, and everyone living with Type 1 diabetes 💙
