LAst August my amazing partner be can to get small raised lumps on the tattooed areas on his legs. His legs and feet began to swell. Being a larger fella he was told it was wait related. His legs became red and inflamed..It's celluloid the doctor said. In December So caught his leg on a ladder a large chunk of skin fell off revealing a horrid yellow hole. Since then the hole has turned into a ulcer followed by another 34 affecting both legs....It's an allergy to the tattoo ink....so was subjected to test after test and has suffered numerous infections. In May this year a biopsy found granulomas in the affected tissue confirming that so has a rare immune disease called sarcoidosis. A course of steroids was perscribed to no effect. Next week si will be starting immune suppressant drugs similar to those used in cancer treatment. This will be medication he will need for life.

I can't explain how hard it is to see the one you love in so much pain begging to cut his legs off to give him relief or for him to end his life to save our family from the increasing burden of daily deessin changes and helping him with daily needs.

Sarcoidosis is rare and further research Is needed and support is to help Famillies like ours is invaluable.

I will be shaving my hair to raise donations and have pledged that if we reach £500 I will let my wonderful Si use a cut throat razor to ensure all hair is gone and I will have my head tattooed with a large mandala encorperating the dandilion emblem used by sarcoidosis uk.
