I'm raising £50000 to support Tackle Suicide CIC – Rugby Against Suicide - Six Nations TACKLE-A-THON

Organised by Paul Pook

Story

Raise hope. Save lives. Support our cause on JustGiving today. Rugby and other collision sports can build strength, identity, and community - but for many current and former athletes they also come with hidden costs. Too many players struggle in silence with declining wellbeing, mental ill health, and worst case scenario, thoughts of suicide.

Tackle Suicide CIC exists to change this. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company focused on improving wellbeing and preventing suicide among rugby and collision sport athletes. Our work is about early support, education, connection, and prevention and not waiting until someone reaches crisis point.

Endorsements below from Keith Wood and Sir John Kirwan. Keith is providing a signed British & Irish Lions jersey and John a signed All Black jersey for our top donators.

Sir John Kirwan…

“I know firsthand how isolating mental health struggles can be.Tackle Suicide is about making sure players - and people - don’t face those battles alone. This tackle-a-thon campaign is physical, uncomfortable, and relentless, just like the battles many people face in silence. That’s why it matters.”

Keith Wood…

‘We have derived huge pleasure for many years supporting rugby players on the field. Now is the time to support them again, after the final whistle has blown and they need our help most. Tackle Suicide CIC is raising hope and saving lives.”

Funds raised will help us:

• develop and deliver wellbeing and suicide prevention programmes

• build accessible digital resources for athletes and their families

• amplify lived experience to reduce stigma and isolation

• support research-informed, community-led solutions across sport

This page exists because the need is real, urgent, and growing, because athletes deserve better care during and after their careers.
